Josh Ayers

Guitar and Bass Lessons

Josh grew up in Angola, IN, where he picked up the acoustic guitar at age 10. After hearing Eddie Van Halen’s “Eruption,” Josh became obsessed with the electric guitar and the following year he received an Eddie Van Halen knock off electric guitar for his birthday. Shortly after that, Josh formed a band with friends and they eventually started gigging fairly regularly. The band was in need of a bass player, so Josh took up that challenge and grew to love the differences and nuances of playing the bass.

Over the years, Josh has played in several bands as a guitarist or bassist. The music genres ranged from old timey and bluegrass music, to pop/rock, to metal. He has also served a 2 year stint as a worship leader in a local church. Josh has recorded several albums as both a solo artist and as an engineer/producer. He currently perform covers and originals in local restaurants and bars as a solo act and with others from time to time.

Josh has always had a passion for music and believes it to be cathartic and even healing yourself. He has long rejected the idea that people are just naturally gifted at it because Josh knows how impossible it seemed to learn at first. He knows anyone can learn if they are willing to put in the time and effort. Josh feels fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion and knowledge with others on their journey to grow as musicians at the Guitar Infirmary and out in the communtiy.
